Pilates for Golf
Pilates is different than traditional weight training and cardio fitness exercises. While these are valuable training tools, brute strength and stamina do not translate into success for a golfer nearly as much as core strength, stamina, flexibility and range of motion. To identify these exact aspects that are crutial for the game of golf, Pilates has a very sport-specific routine dedicated specifically toward golfers of all skill levels.
Tiger Woods, Annika Sorenstam, Camilo Villegas and Mieko Tanaka are just a few of the professional golfers who will confirm that Pilates can and has improved their golf game.
Sequencing is a key element to perfecting the golf swing, because of this, our method of sequencing is one of the major points of our educational programs. Our course on the Pilates Golf Method is designed to not only focus on sequencing, but to improve flexibility and strength, and strengthen the core, back and knees, creating the power needed to execute the golf swing correctly.
It is known that Golf stresses one side of the body more than the other, so it's common for back problems to occur and become so uncomfortable that your swing is not as strong as it could be. Conditioning with Pilates works to prevent this from happening.
Through improving posture in general and posture during your swing and follow through, Pilates for Golf will reduce the strain placed on your lower back and shoulders, preventing pain and injury.
The understanding of anatomical sequencing, balance and proper form will be identified to fully comprehend the movement flows during the swing in order to prevent injury and gain more yards with less handicaps.
D.K. Body Balancing Pilates Golf Method offers in-depth educational training through our Pilates Golf Training Program and Exercise Workshops.
